Ashland Food Co-op's December Change for Good Partner: Rogue Action Center
This December, Ashland Food Co-op is proud to partner with Rogue Action Center (RAC) as part of their Change for Good initiative. RAC is dedicated to cultivating organizing power and leadership to create a more just and thriving Southern Oregon. Their mission focuses on building community power for Housing Justice, Racial Justice, and Queer & Trans Liberation. They achieve this through a combination of base building, youth-centered leadership development, coalition building, and advocacy campaigns aimed at transforming societal rules.
Rogue Action Center envisions a future in Jackson and Josephine Counties where communities, especially those impacted such as working-class individuals, BIPOC, youth, and LGBTQIA2S+ people, can not only stay but also thrive and actively fight for justice in their home region. In collaboration with Rogue Climate, RAC is hosting a winter Community Organizing Youth Internship, open to individuals aged 14 to 30 in the Rogue Valley. This internship offers weekly workshops and hands-on community organizing experience. Participants will gain valuable skills while contributing to vital local campaigns focused on climate and social justice. Applications are open until December 31, 2024. To learn more, visit Rogue Action Center's website.
Supporting organizations like Rogue Action Center through the Ashland Food Co-op's Change for Good initiative not only enhances community engagement but also empowers local youth as future leaders and advocates for change. By aligning with RAC, the Co-op reinforces its commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable Southern Oregon, where every community member has the opportunity to thrive.
